Again there are insights in the Canarian culture in La Orotava. With a great fair for the craftwork applying oneself to the Canarian pottery.

At the 6^th of September, the yearly fair for the craftwork starts in the Pinolere district. The fair, the culture and the tradition combined, gives a detailed insight in the art of the native hand workers. In this year the motto is made out to “Made by loam” and applies oneself overall in eleven exhibitions to the Canarian pottery. However there are also a range of concerts of folklore and music groups. So plays for example the local rock band “Altraste” on the 6^th September at 20:00 o’clock, as well as the Cubans “Los Poetas Cubanos” on the 7^th of September at 19:00 o’clock. The entry costs 2,50 €. For the first time the Titsa (the public bus service) offers tours to the fair hourly from 10:00 o’clock to 20:00 o’clock, from the bus station in Orotava for free.

From the 6^th to the 8^th of September the “Romeria de nuestra Señora de Socorro” takes place in Güimar (Tenerife). This is the oldest festival for city, which is known by its historical pyramid. In the small hours the procession takes place, one pilgrimage from the church San Pedro in Güimar to the Church of El Socorro. There are dances and music. At night of the 8^th September the virgo will be brought to the church San Pedro, followed by a traditional festival.
