Field report of Maria, Internship in the Public Relations
“I did my internship in a 4 star hotel in the south of Tenerife and during the 3 months in Spain I can tell I had a very good time here. My colleagues have been very nice and pleasant to me and helped me a lot. In the department of Public Relations I could take over very quick responsibility and through the contact with guests I could improve my Spanish. Fortunately my hotel had only a few German guests, so I was obliged to use my Spanish abilities. Thereby I learned a lot.”
“Because of my shift work and two days off per week so I had the possibility, to discover the island by day and to go out at night. With the other interns or also with my colleagues I did for example a tour to the Teide. We were shopping in Santa Cruz and in Puerto de la Cruz we were visiting the Loro Parque. There are so much things to discover and to visit!! The whole time here in Tenerife I made so many photos like never before. It is just so nice here that one want to capture it. When we go out for a drink or dancing at night, we decided mostly for San Telmo. San Telmo is close to the beach of Playa de las Vistas in Los Cristianos and covers many bars, discos and restaurants. Particularly the natives and Spanish speaking tourists are going out there. This and the opportunity to change the location when and how much you want, made San Telmo special attractive for me. A piece ahead in Las Veronicas, you can go out also very well. Bus as opposite to San Telmo one meet here almost only English tourists.
During my time on Tenerife I met so many interesting people and found also good friends. Whilst my internship I didn’t learn just a lot, what would help me later in my studies and in my job; I learned also a lot of myself. I could take so many great experiences with me at home, on which I will gladly remember still in the future. I can really recommend everybody to do also an internship in Spain!!”
